Costume Surgery Revel

Title: Costume Surgery Revel
Location: Hargrave Hall, Archway, N19 5SP
Link out: Click here
Description: Do you have a costume project you are stuck on or wish to improve? Or have that perfect piece of kit in mind, but don’t know where to start? Want to produce your first T-Tunic? Or find a belt design to hold it all together? From Viking trews to Elizabethan doublets, this is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the 2010 activity season – remember, the Winchester Pilgrimage weekend will only be two months away from this date. The Shire Sewing Machine will be in attendance (yes yes yes, it will have been serviced by March). If anyone else can bring one, that would be even better!

The afternoon workshop will also feature an SCA 101 session to answer all your questions about us, help develop ideas of what you would like to do and learn in our group.

The Evening kicks off with a candle-lit Bring Your own food feast, follwoed by an evening of drama, dancing and other entertainment!
Start Time: 13:00
Date: 2010-03-27
End Time: 22:00

For people coming in from London Waterloo, the station is Egham, on the Waterloo to Reading run. The 1009 and 1039 are direct trains, others are available, changing via Staines.

For any satnav out there, the address is – Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, Surrey TW20 0EX

The plan is to meet at the entrance of Royal Holloway (as indicated on the map) at noon. My mobile is 07870 684 214 for on the day. We’re going to be demoing at Lady Jane Holloway Hall, and I have asked for a guide to meet us at the gate to show us where to go. General plan is for a chat/non-fighting stuff/see what they do til about 1pm, when the majority of our fighters will be arriving, some fighting and more demo. I would like us to be in costume and if anyone has portable show-and-tell items, photographs and any other useful bits it would be most welcome.
