Calendars

Thamesreach’s calendar can be found on the Events page and contains an up to date listing of all current and forthcoming events, meetings and revels.

There is also an alternate Yahoo! calendar detailing Thamesreach events (requires a Yahoo! ID to view, and membership in the Thamesreach Yahoogroup to add events). This contains a detailed listing of events, as well as other items of interest to the shire.

The Kingdom of Drachenwald official calendar (offsite) contains the events relevant to Drachenwald.

Newsgroups
Across the kingdom, we rely on e-mail and newgroups to keep us in touch. There are too many to list here, but some of the key ones are:

Thamesreach Yahoogroup -  as mentioned, the discussion list for Thamesreach members. It is highly recommended that participants join this list, so as to keep up to date with all the latest news, as well as take part in various discussions with others in the shire.

Insulae Draconis Yahoogroup is the mailing list for Insulae Draconis.

Joining the SCA

Thamesreach is an open and welcoming group and beleives that newcomers should try out the various activities before deciding on joining.  First time visits to revels and fighter practice are free, and we can provide basic medieval-style clothing and equipment on request.

Membership is optional, and you can play as long as you like without a paid membership.

However, membership is required for leadership roles, where you would act on behalf of  the group (ie, organise an event).

To join:  visit the SCA corporate site and sign up as an international member for $35 USD a year, less than £2 a month. Membership provides you with discounts to official events, the ability to enter tournaments for the Principality of Insulae Draconis and the Kingdom of Drachenwald, allows you to hold an office.

Membership also covers our activities by underwriting the insurance to support the revels, fighter practices and other official events Thamesreach organises, as well as provides you with the monthly Kingdom newsletter magazine Dragons Tale.

Most of all, it supports the Society structure that allows us to play with 60 000 others under the same rules and expectations across the various Kingdoms!
