Staying in touch: calendars and newsgroups
Calendars
Thamesreach’s calendar can be found on the Events page and contains an up to date listing of all current and forthcoming events, meetings and revels.
There is also an alternate Yahoo! calendar detailing Thamesreach events (requires a Yahoo! ID to view, and membership in the Thamesreach Yahoogroup to add events). This contains a detailed listing of events, as well as other items of interest to the shire.
The Kingdom of Drachenwald official calendar (offsite) contains the events relevant to Drachenwald.
Newsgroups
Across the kingdom, we rely on e-mail and newgroups to keep us in touch. There are too many to list here, but some of the key ones are:
Thamesreach Yahoogroup - as mentioned, the discussion list for Thamesreach members. It is highly recommended that participants join this list, so as to keep up to date with all the latest news, as well as take part in various discussions with others in the shire.
Insulae Draconis Yahoogroup is the mailing list for Insulae Draconis.
drachenwald.sca.org lists can be viewed and joined by registering here. These are:

Joining the SCA
Thamesreach is an open and welcoming group and beleives that newcomers should be able to try out the various activities we offer before deciding on joining us. First time visits to revels and fighter practice are free, and we can provide basic medieval-style clothing and equipment on request. Membership subscriptinos are optional, but are highly reccomended to support the society.
Joining the SCA is quite simple really, visit this site and sign up as an international member for only $35 a year, less than £2 a month. This is the lifeblood of our society and provides you with discounts to official events, the ability to enter tournaments for the Principality of Insulae Draconis and the Kingdom of Drachenwald, hold an official role, cover our activities by underwriting the insurance to support the revels, fighter practices and other official events Thamesreach organises, as well as provides you with the monthly Kingdom newsletter magazine Dragons Tale. Most of all, it underpins the entire Society structure that allows us to play with 60 000 others under the same rules and expectations across the various Kingdoms!
Membership of the SCA is not required in order to participate in most activities, so please feel free to come along as a non-member!
